The first time I came across the family tree story was when I was doing an online course a couple of years ago where we were asked to compile a family tree of up to 7 generations. I must say it was a shocker in my system to learn of how much about myself and family lineage I didn't know.
Why we had to do the family tree?
To identify our skills and natural talents. Yes, you heard right, it turned out as I learnt during that course that many of the things I was doing already run in my bloodline. It's nothing new actually, but an evolution of what is already there.
Many of us believe with our whole being that whatever it is that we are naturally gifted in is something new in our families whilst in reality it is a family thing. The only thing that's new is how it is being done through you.
How does this family tree link to one's purpose?
Every family on this planet comes with a soul mandate. We are all here to fulfill a certain mission that fits into a bigger picture of all things. So each and every family gets gifted with some abilities that comes very easy for them so as to help them fulfill the mission. That is why you'll find in a certain family people are gifted with beautiful voices. Their mandate may be to heal others through voice. As they sing people find healing through them. Someone in that family might have a very big strange voice that some of us may deem as not a good voice to sing, only to find that whenever this person sings or even shares something, people always find healing. This happens because the mandate is to help the world to heal and this family will do it through voice.
Now, many people are currently struggling to find their purpose in this life, they go as far as thinking they don't have a purpose when they actually do. The only challenge is that they're so disconnected with who they truly are in such a way that it feels like it's not there.
So, if you happen to be one of those people who walk around thinking you don't have a purpose, this is your lucky day because through this article you'll at least get direction of what your purpose is.
What you need to do, is to start compiling your family tree.
How to compile your family tree?
Take a book and get the middle pages of the exercise book. Write your name in the middle of the page (your full birthnames and surname). Underneath, write the names and surnames of your parents, then their parents underneath each, etc. Carry on like that to as far as you know. If you happen to be one of those people who don't know either their father/mother - put a question mark underneath especially where you should be writing the name. Do same for everyone else in the family that you don't know.
If there's a way of finding out from others around you, please do. Don't be afraid to ask because there's so much power and valuable information lying in this exercise.
Then with everyone, write what it is that you know they do or did, either as work or what they love to do. Anything that you can think of that made or makes the person to make a living. It doesn't necessarily has to be something that they made money or income of. Whatever it is that people do or did, write all of that.
Then check to see how many are active in you and most importantly if you are making money from it or not.
Once you've identified yourself in this way, look to see, how can you make money from this, how can you activate whatever it is that is a natural gift within your family. This natural gift will be something that is common amongst the family members.
You can make this more exciting and include, your siblings, your parent's siblings etc.
